Hear from our Computer Course Participant Turkya

Turkya Elyas Qaseem 24 years Bajed Kandala Camp, Duhok (Internally Displaced Person) “I forever lived in anxiety about being a new nurse and unable to handle the use of computers at my work station. If it were not for the Computer training I got at Weh Center, I would forever remain self-doubtful and my mental health would have worsened. I would like to tell all the girls and women, whenever they have the chance to learn something, they must take that chance and never stop empowering yourself.” Turkya finished from the school of nursing, and worked in Sunnuni. Her was struggling with using the computer and internet at work, due to her lack of practical knowledge regarding using basic programs of Microsoft etc. She was anxious that this lack of knowledge would hinder her progress at work and therefore she registered for the Computer Course at the Center. Upon completion of the course she realized she was able to use these new skills at her work place effectively and was motivated to improve herself and wanted to register for an advanced course.
