Amira Rasheed Ali 23 years Kabarto camp, Duhok (Internally Displaced Person) “As a 9th grade school dropout, having worked only in a pickle factory, I never thought I would be the breadwinner of my family! However, the Sewing Course at Weh Center, stitched back all the dreams that ISIS had torn away. I am the perfect example of if you truly want to succeed at work, make your hobby your profession.” Amira was forced to leave school in Sinjar after ISIS attacked, and had been working at a pickle factory to support her family. However, when her contract ended, she struggled to find work and wanted to improve her skills to increase her job opportunities to support her unemployed husband. After hearing about sewing courses at the Weh center, through social media, she was able to turn her hobby into a business opportunity.
