Hear from our Mental Health Awareness Training Course Participant Basma

Basma Saeed Elyas 27 years Chamishko Camp “I advise women, if they attend this center, they will be able to find everything they need. Enrolling for the Mental Health Awareness Training helped me to not only improve my overall wellbeing but also taught me how to get work opportunities. May God bless every girl who attends this center.” Basma is a graduate of the Business Management Department. There were many pressures on Basma and her family, as they stayed in the camps for over 8 years. Although baking was a helpful hobby to cope with the tough realities of Basma’s life, the lack of space and materials hindered her ability to make a profession out of it. She also felt depressed and stuck and her mental health plummeted. She heard about the mental health course given at the Center and promptly enrolled for it. She feels it has been one of the most enriching and relieving experiences of her life. Being with her friends, and learning healthier practices to improve her mental health, was an important activity that helped change her mindset towards life.
