Hear from our Computer Course Participant Narden

Narden Khalid Khodeda 20 years Kabarto Camp, Duhok (Internally Displaced Person) “I think we should be more proactive and take opportunities that are there for us, because those chances can be taken away and will not wait for us. I waited all through high school for someone to teach me Microsoft programs and the use of Computers but I did not have resources or someone willing to teach me. When I heard about the Computer Course at Weh Center I jumped at the opportunity and now I can say with pride that since I am aware of the basics, I am trying to self-teach myself the advanced features too. Without the first click, I would have always closed the windows to the possibility of being my own teacher.” Through her schooling years, Narden, struggled with finding a good teacher or gaining practical knowledge of the basic use of computer tools and programs. As a result her academic studies suffered because she was unable to make any tables or presentations. The Computer Course at Weh Center, introduced the theoretical knowledge in a practical way and now she is fluent with the basic use of the computer and its functions. Now she is trying to research by herself and is encourage to try and learn new the advanced features of the program so that she can do better at studies and at work.
